Witch fingers with chilli dip are pigs in blankets served in a creamy sweet chilli sauce, make fun finger foods for a Halloween party! Watch the kids faces as you serve these up – they make a great addition to a Halloween party or buffet and they’re just as delicious as they are gruesome! They only take 15 minutes to prep which makes them super simple and you can even get the kids to help, particularly with making the dip! If you want, you can even double up on the finger ingredients and arrange them to look like two hands trying to come out of the dip! You can also serve them up with ketchup so it looks like blood. - For the witches fingers:
- 454g pack 8 chilli pork sausages
- 8 rashers of streaky bacon
- 8 flaked almonds
- For the chilli dip:
- 4tbsp sweet chilli sauce
- 50g light cream cheese
- ½ x 170g pot 0% Greek yogurt
Preheat the oven to 200˚C/400˚F/Gas Mark 6. Line a baking tray with grease-proof baking paper.
For the witches fingers: Wrap each sausage in a rasher of streaky bacon starting 2cm in from the end of each sausage.
Place on the lined baking tray and spoon over 2tbsp of sweet chilli sauce, and bake in the oven for 30 mins, turning if necessary. Remove and allow to cool for 5 mins.
Meanwhile for the chilli dip: Mix the cream cheese, yogurt and 1½tbsp of sweet chilli sauce and place in a bowl and top with the remaining sweet chilli sauce.
Using a sharp knife, cut a small slit, 1cm in from the end, just under the skin of each sausage where the bacon isn’t wrapped, and slide an almond in to make a fingernail.
Place the sausages at differing heights into the dip with the fingernails pointing outwards and serve.
If you aren’t a fan of spice, use normal pork sausages
