Jamelia confirms split from boyfriend Jean-Louis Pascal

'I recently ended my relationship'

Jamelia has confirmed that she's split from boyfriend Jean-Louis Pascal.

The mum-of-two made the admission on an episode of Loose Women, whilst speaking to her fellow panellists about singer Taylor Swift, who was pictured with new beau Tom Hiddleston two weeks after breaking off her relationship with DJ Calvin Harris.

''It did strike a chord with me,' Jamelia, 35, said. 'I recently ended my relationship. I was thinking, "Well what is she supposed to do? Am I supposed to stay in mourning?"'

'I think it depends on the level of heartbreak and if she's not heartbroken and she wants to move on. Well, if Mr. Right comes along tomorrow, I don't want to spend a certain amount of time alone.'

The singer-turned-presenter had confirmed her relationship with Jean-Louis late last year, and in January appeared on Loose Women to discuss introducing him to her daughters.

'It's very important to me that the girls know why this man has been allowed to become my boyfriend,' she said at the time. 'I want my children to know what a good man is. Since the day I met him, no one else has existed. I'd given up and thought there were no good men out there.'

'I told the girls I fell in love. At the time I thought the girls would love him as well. But my daughters have never seen me with a partner.'

'I said I'd involve them in the process and I asked them if they thought he should be my boyfriend and they said no! I didn't anticipate that happening and we just had to take baby steps.'

Before meeting Jean-Louis last summer, Jamelia was single for eight years. Her marriage to daughter Tiani's father, footballer Darren Byfield, ended when the pair filed for divorce in 2009.

Prior to this, she had a relationship with music manager Terry Wallen, with whom she had her elder daughter Teja, and was said to be the inspiration behind her 2004 hit 'Thank You'.
