Anne Robinson has been slapped with a 6 month driving ban for speeding.
The Weakest Link presenter was caught driving her Audi A3 at 43mph in a 30mph zone in Portsmouth on 8 August last year.
Anne, who was not at the hearing at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court, admitted to the offence by post.
Her lawyer Michael McGoldrick said she had been disorientated by the road system on her first visit there.
‘It was a Sunday morning,’ he told the court. ‘Following the signs to the A3 she found herself heading to Gunwharf Quays (retail centre) and realised she was off course.
‘She turned around and while trying to leave Portsmouth she failed to spot that she was in a restricted speed area.
‘My client accepts that she will be disqualified and she wanted me to apologise for what happened and apologise for taking up the court’s time.’
Anne, 63, received the ban because she was given 4 penalty points, which were added to the 9 already on her licence.
She was fined £100 and must pay £50 costs.
