Emmerdale leads awards nominations

  • Emmerdale has received the most nominations for this year’s British Soap Awards.

    The ITV drama is in the running for all of the nine panel-decided gongs.

    EastEnders and Coronation Street follow closely with eight nominations.

    Doctors has 6 nods, while Hollyoaks trails with 5.

    By default all the major soaps have also been entered into the categories to be decided by viewers, such as Sexiest Female and Best Actor.

    The winners of the Lifetime Achievement and Special Achievement Awards will be announced on the night.

    The British Soap Awards take place in London on Saturday and the show will be broadcast on Wednesday 19 May on ITV1.
