What have Jim Robinson, Mike Baldwin and Arthur Fowler all got in common, apart from being soap characters?
The answer is they all died on-screen of a heart attack.
And health experts are now blaming TV and the movies for people’s lack of knowledge about the symptoms of heart attacks.
Apparently 38% of us reckon that there will always be terrible chest pains if we’re having a heart attack, all because of the way they’re shown in Hollywood or the small screen, according to the British Heart Foundation (BHF). And the thing is, there are quite a few other symptoms and they’re often different for men and women.
But we’ll all be able to watch our own heart attack on ITV1 this Sunday (10th August) at 9.17pm – and the BHF are calling this the most important two minutes of TV you’ll ever see.
Well I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen anyone have a heart attack so I probably wouldn’t know for sure what the symptoms are either. Surely I can’t be the only one, can I?
