Autumn is probably my favourite month. I love the crisp mornings and the rainbow-coloured leaves on the trees but one of the best things about autumn is the telly!
There’s Strictly, X-Factor and loads of comedy, including Beautiful People on BBC2. It’s a new show about a teenager called Simon and his best friend Kyle, who are total misfits and dream about escaping the suburbs and becoming famous. It’s a bit like a modern version of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 3/4 but with lots of camp humour, silly dance routines and the sort of odd characters that everyone has in their street.
Meera Syal plays Simon’s crazy blind auntie and Olivia Colman from The Green Wing, Peep Show and Mitchell and Webb plays Simon’s mum – they are both brilliant in this show.
If you liked Absolutely Fabulous and Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, then you’ll love this. It’s on BBC2 on Thursdays at 9.30
