Let’s hear it for Spam!

Well I can honestly say I was delighted to scoff my way through the dishes of the six regional finalists, all made using a tin of Spam! In a close-run contest the winner was Shannon Stenning with her Spam Rosti cake, topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. It was so tasty, us four judges literally fought over the last mouthful! (Shannon is centre of the photo with her special ‘tin’ award, and that’s me next to Phil.).

So I am now officially a Spam convert! It tastes really good, and at around £1.80 a tin, it’s great value, so why not visit the Cook of The Year website and try the winning recipes for yourself?
