Charlotte Crosby has revealed she’s had surgery last month to correct her ‘uniboob’, after being body-shamed by trolls on social media.
The reality TV celeb had previously spoken candidly the condition which ‘deformed’ her breasts, saying it made her ‘under-confident’.
Now the former Geordie Shore star has revealed that she’s undergone a three-hour corrective operation on her breasts last month, after fans noticed she looked different in her recent social media pictures.
Speaking to Heat magazine, Charlotte said she decided to have the surgery because she was tired of receiving negative comments on social media.
‘My uniboob [made] me feel under-confident…’, she told the publication. ‘It [the condition] really limited what I could wear without people saying, “What the f***’s wrong with her boobs?”…
‘If a picture of me is online, people say things like “What is wrong with her boobs? They’re deformed! They’re stuck together”…
‘I did it [had the surgery] because of the comments I got online about my boobs.’
Explaining more about the procedure she had done, the 27-year-old said doctors removed the tissue that connected her breasts, which has given them a lift.
‘It was a complex operation because it’s congenital symmatasia – that’s the medical term, meaning I was born with it so it was harder to treat.
‘They had to go under the boobs and the tissue and put sutures – which are internal stitches – onto the breast bone.
‘Because they’ve all been stitched up underneath, it’s changed the shape of my boobs a bit… It’s kind of given them a lift…,’ she said.
The star had previously opened up about the condition, but said at the time that she wasn’t sure if she would ever go ahead with the procedure.
She told OK! magazine earlier this year: ‘I don’t know whether I’d get it changed, but I’ve been doing a lot of research.
‘It’s not a big operation; they just do a little split, then they get the tissue lifted from the breast bone and stitch it up, so that you’ve got that groove that you’re meant to have.’
