Kelly Clarkson hits back at cruel Twitter troll who called her 'fat'

She had the BEST response

Kelly Clarkson has hit back after a troll on social media sent her a tweet calling her 'fat'.

The singer replied to a Twitter user who messaged her on the platform to say 'You're fat', retweeting his words and adding her own, responding: '...and still f*cking awesome'.

The move has won Kelly endless praise from her 11.6 million followers, who applauded her confident approach to the cruel comment.

'The nerve of some people! You're amazing, @kelly_clarkson. He's #jealous,' one declared, whilst another added: 'You're beautiful Kelly just the way you are!'

The American Idol winner, who is mum to daughter River Rose, three, and son Remington, one, has addressed ongoing scrutiny of her body several times, telling Redbook in 2016 that although she wasn't at her 'goal weight', 'this [her body] is real, and this is what's happening right now, this is what I'm rocking.'

'I'm just gonna do me and I'm gonna go at my own pace and I'm gonna do my thing,' she explained to the title. 'And if I'm skinny one day or bigger one day, that ain't gonna change how I sound. I still sound pretty dang good. And my talent is why I'm here.'

'It's also part of this industry, so you just have to swallow that pill and get over it. But at the the same time, I think it's great that people always bring it up with me because I get to say, "screw you, I don't care what you think."'

Kelly added that her children can been a big source of inspiration for her body positive attitude, particularly as she's raising a girl.

'I try to just be a confident female for her — and I believe actions obviously speak louder than words, it's an old saying but it's very true,' she said. 'I'm sure [all of my kids will] end up in therapy for something. But I hope it won't be for lack of confidence.'
