Bride-to-be Kate Middleton hasn’t just ordered one back-up wedding dress in case details of her gown gets out – she’s ordered three!
Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton is rumoured to be designing Kate’s wedding dress, but stories have emerged that top designer Jasper Conran is creating another.
Conran was behind the creation of Princess Margaret’s daughter Lady Sarah Chatto’s wedding dress in 1994.
He’s denied that he’s involved in the design of Kate’s dress and it’s possible it may just be a distraction made up by Kate’s people.
Previously, Kate’s mum Carole and sister Pippa were seen talking to designer Alice Temperley, sparking rumours that she may be designing the wedding dress, but they may have been discussing their own gowns.
It’s also been reported that seamstresses at Alexander McQueen’s head office have been arriving unusually early for work.
‘Apart from when they are incredibly busy in the run-up to fashion week, everyone arrives at the same time,’ a source told Grazia magazine.
‘There has been lots of whispering and secret meetings at head office recently,’ they revealed.
Before her 1981 wedding to Prince Charles, Diana Spencer announced that designers Emanuel were making her dress and she had two identical gowns made in case something went wrong with the first.
