Kerry Katona says that Loose Women 'ruined her marriage' to Brian McFadden

Kerry Katona has said that ITV show Loose Women 'ruined her marriage' to ex-husband Brian McFadden.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, who shares two of her five children with Westlife star Brian, made the comment during a special episode marking the show's 18th anniversary celebrations, as the panel looked back at their years on set.

Kerry recalled how during her very early appearances on the show, she'd always sing the praises of her other half, and then recalled an instance where a booking on the programme meant she'd had to leave him to attend a recording session on his own.

'This one time Brian said to me, "I am going to record a new single with this girl called Delta Goodrem, will you come with me?" and I said, "I can't I'm doing Loose Women,' she explained.

'Can you imagine, if I hadn't come on this show I'd still be married. Loose Women ruined my marriage! Well, one of them!' she added with a laugh.

Presenter Nadia Sawalha questioned her declaration, asking: 'You don't really think that, do you?', to which the mum-of-five responded: 'Of course not.'

Kerry and Brian, who wed in January 2002, parted in 2006, and he went on to date musician Delta for seven years.

She has had two subsequent marriages, to Mark Croft, whom she divorced in 2011, and George Kay, from whom she announced her split earlier this year.

Speaking during a candid interview with the Sunday People in July, she said that she's apologised to her children for the things that they witnessed throughout the couple's reportedly turbulent relationship.

'I feel like the worst mother in the world and I will never forgive myself,' she told the paper at the time.

'No child should have to hear what they heard or see what they saw. I sat my Molly and Lily down because they're older and all I could do was profusely apologise to them.'

'I said to the girls, "I'm so sorry I've let this go on for so long".'
