Ben Foden admits cheating

Rugby star Ben Foden has admitted to cheating on wife Una Healy during their six-year marriage in a candid interview.

Opening up on the events leading up to his divorce from the Saturdays singer, the dad confessed that the cheating rumours were true and that he had been unfaithful.

He told The Guardian: ‘At the moment anything that’s published about me is never very good and pretty rightly so because I was the one who committed adultery.’

But the 33-year-old went on to emphasise that his actions weren’t the sole reason behind the breakdown of their relationship.

Continuing he added: ‘At the same time, it wasn’t the only reason for our divorce to go through. It’s not ideal, but we’re very amicable, we’re getting through it, we’re not the first people in the world to get divorced. We’ve got two little kids we adore.’

And on his move to New York, the sporting star admitted that although it was hard to be away from the two children he shares with the pop star – Aoife, six, and Tadhg, four – he felt comforted by the happy home ‘great mum’ Una had created for them.

He said: ‘It’s hard because I’m away from my son and daughter.

‘But I know they’re in a great and loving environment with Una, because she’s a great mum. We never argue about that.’

While it’s unclear whether Ben has found love again, 37-year-old Una went public with her romance to Irish Hurler and captain of the Limerick senior team, David Breen in December.

Sharing a festive snap of the pair on Instagram she wrote: 'I have tried to hide him but he’s too tall’.

Ben and Una tied the knot back in 2012, but their separation was confirmed by the singer’s spokesperson in July 2018.

Speaking to The Sun at the time, they said: ‘I can confirm Una and Ben have separated and she’s in Ireland with her mum and kids, but there will be no further comment to make.’
