Actress Jenna Dewan has written a new book, and opened up about the reason behind her divorce from Channing Tatum in a new excerpt.
Jenna Dewan’s memoir is called Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day, and has released a new excerpt to People. In it, she explains how the dynamic in her marriage was no longer benefiting their daughter, six-year-old Everly.
In the book, she writes, ‘I’d come to realise the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter. First and foremost, I had to accept the realisation this isn’t working and had moved into hurting.’
Eventually, Channing and Jenna decided to divorce just before she started filming the second season of World of Dance. But they’d initially kept things a secret.
Jenna added, ‘The public saw Channing and I in this idealised romanticised light. This made things difficult for me because I like being as honest and real as I can.’
Anyone who’s been through a divorce will understand how painful it can be, and Jenna also opened up with how she worked through the stresses and emotions.
She said, ‘One of the many ways I holistically coped with my heartbreak and stress was with holy basil…. One thing I wasn’t about to do during my heartbreak was abandon the things that make me feel good, which includes maintaining a clean, delicious diet.’
Jenna Dewan has shared a first look at her new book on Instagram, telling fans that it will include ‘Personal stories, meditations, poetry, crystals, recipes and more’. We can’t wait!
Jenna is now dating Steve Kazee, who she went public with in 2018. Recently, Jenna announced that she and Steve were expecting their first child together.
Jenna previously opened up about how Steve was a great stepdad to Everly, so we’re excited to learn all about the new addition to the family.
A source had told People, ‘Steve is very supportive of her as a mom. He is amazing with Everly. Jenna loves having Steve around. She feels very lucky to be dating him.’
