Liam Gallagher confirms he’s engaged to long term partner Debbie Gwyther

Liam Gallagher has confirmed he’ll marry his long term partner Debbie Gwyther next year, after proposing to her in a romantic holiday in Italy.

Rumours the couple are tying the knot started swirling a few weeks ago, but now the former Oasis band member has confirmed that he will be walking down the aisle for the third time.

He told Sunday Mirror: ‘Third time lucky. I'm ready to do it again. I’m buzzing more than her. This one’s going to be a big thing.’

Speaking of how he popped the question, Liam revealed the pair had been discussing it for a while and finally decided to do it while they were on holiday in Italy.

‘We'd been talking about it for ages and Debbie was going, ‘I’m not too sure, I can’t be a***d’, he said.

‘And she’s like, 'Yeah, yeah, course'. I told my mam and me kids, she told her family, and everyone was buzzing.’

Debbie, who started working for Liam as a personal assistant in 2013, revealed how Liam got ahead of himself and told everyone the great news before she’d even said yes.

‘Liam asked for my dad's permission… in his own way. He texted him and said, “I want you to know I’m marrying Debbie”’, she said.

‘Then he messaged all the kids and our mates telling them we were getting married… before I'd even said yes.’

The pair has been together for about six years, and Liam has referred to her as his soul mate.

He told The Mirror: ‘She was a breath of fresh air, man. She sorted me right out. Me and her like to do the same things, like having a drink. We like having a laugh.’

The 46-year-old has been married twice before – he tied the knot with Patsy Kensit in 1997, with the pair later divorcing in 2000. He also married All Saints singer Nicole Appleton in 2008, but the couple divorced in 2014.
