TV star Eva Amurri Martino, known for roles in shows like New Girl and How I Met Your Mother, has announced she’s splitting from her husband of eight years – just two months after revealing she’s pregnant with their third child.
The actress, who’s also Susan Sarandon’s daughter, revealed the sad news on Instagram alongside a family picture.
She wrote, ‘Our family is starting down a new path. After a lot of thoughtful consideration, and work on our relationship, we have made the difficult decision to lovingly part ways as a couple.
‘We are committed to, and excited about, raising our three beautiful children as close friends and deep partners, and we have the utmost respect for one another. We feel so grateful for the wonderful gifts we have created and received throughout our decade together.
‘We have realized over time that the best path to happiness for us as a family is in this different direction, and we look forward to forging ahead in to a new beautiful relationship. We appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate this new transition for our family. All the love, Eva & Kyle’.
While she turned off the comments on the post announcing the split, the actress still thanked fans who got in touch with supportive messages.
In another post, she wrote, ‘I wanted to take a moment to thank the people from the bottom of my heart who have reached out to both Kyle and I with love and support. ❤️ It is felt and appreciated on every level, and it’s important for both of us to note that he and I and the kids are doing SO well as a family through this transition.’
Many fans and followers of the star commented to praise how the couple are handing the split, with one writing, ‘The focus on your family and your kids and yourself are the most important elements for all of you! Wishing you strength on this new journey. 🙏🏼💖’
Another said, ‘Love to you, Kyle, and all 3 kiddos!! Happiness and love is most important- so whatever family is for you is the most important! Don’t listen to any negativity ❤️’.
A third added, ‘You are setting an amazing example to women. A lot of women in your position would just stay married “for the kids” or because it is “easier” or scary to be alone because they are pregnant. Eva and Kyle tied the knot back in 2011, and celebrated their wedding anniversary at the end of October with a very romantic post on social media.
The pair share two kids - five-year-old daughter Marlowe Mae and three-year-old son Major James - and are currently expecting their third child.
