Shanina Shaik has filed for divorce after one year of marriage.
The Victoria’s Secret model married music artist DJ Ruckus, whose real name is Greg Andrews, last April.
But news broke last month that the couple’s relationship had experienced some problems and they had decided to call it quits.
The 28-year-old model has now filed paperwork with Los Angeles County Court in California requesting a dissolution of marriage.
The couple’s divorce documents are said to site irreconcilable differences and Shanina has requested spousal support, though the pair do have a pre-nuptial agreement.
‘After careful thought and consideration, Shanina Shaik and Greg ‘DJ Ruckus’ Andrews have decided to separate,’ a rep for the couple told E! News in a statement.
‘They move forward with much mutual respect and love for each other, and ask to please respect their privacy during this time.’
The duo tied the knot back on musician Lenny Kravitz’s private island, as he is the cousin of 35-year-old Greg. The event saw a host of famous faces, including Ashlee Simpson and husband Evan Ross, the son of musical icon Diana Ross.
The pair got engaged on the same island back in late 2015, just after Christmas.
During their one-year marriage Shanina and Greg did not have any children together, though the Australian model did recently open up about wanting to start a family.
In an interview with fellow Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, for her lifestyle website Rose Inc., Shanina said that it would be a dream for her to start a family.
‘I add to my dream board all the time,’ she said. ‘All those things on my dream board I want to conquer. Eventually I want to have my own business, be an owner-entrepreneur. Personally, I’m thinking about a family and when to settle down and have all that as well. […] If I can do all of that, I’ll be very happy.’
