Susannah Constantine splits opinion by asking fans if she should stop sleeping in the same bed as her husband

Susannah Constantine has sparked debate on social media by asking fans if she should stop sleeping in the same bed as her husband.

The TV presenter took to Instagram to ask fans their thoughts on the her plan. Explaining the situation in a video, she said both her and her husband struggle to get quality sleep because of his wriggling and her snoring, so they're thinking about swapping their double bed for two singles in the same room.

The question started a debate among Susannah's followers, as some agreed with her idea and shared their own experiences of having a similar arrangement.

One said: 'Do love your openness and honesty. If you love each other it shouldn’t matter the bed arrangements. Be creative 😀 and sleep well'.

Another said: 'Yes! My other half snores like a walrus with a sinus infection! The lack of sleep I was getting was starting to get to me and I was irritable and snappy. We sleep in separate rooms. We stay together to watch TV and have a cuddle but we sleep apart. I do miss him being next to me but ultimately I'm more rested and happier. My job demands that I'm on the ball so we had no choice but to deal with the problem. It's not ideal but it's the best of a bad situation.'

A third also agreed: 'I think give the singles ago. Nothing to loose. Nothing worse than a bad nights sleep. A lot of couples are now opting for separate rooms !!'

However, others thought she shouldn't go through with her idea as it could harm their relationship.

One wrote: 'Don’t do it! Get a bigger bed and earplugs ... if you are close enough to hold hands the single bed thing is pointless and will get in the way of spontaneity and put a distance between you. Touch is so important and everything else that goes with it .... it changes the dynamic.'

A second commented: 'Are you nuts? Get a king sized bed - do not get single beds... that marks the beginning of the end...'

Another said: 'I think if you start the proper single bed theory it is a slippery road to permanent night isolation.... and the comings together will decrease and also that feeling of (slight) abandonment afterward... you can’t stop your darling being a wriggler but hopefully you can get hold of the snoring.'
