Bride furious after her bridesmaid opts for ‘trashy’ dress for her special day

It is an unspoken rule that usually the bride will always choose the colour of the dresses to be worn by her bridesmaids. But, a bride-to-be has been left outraged after her sister, who is bridesmaid at her wedding, chose a see-through black dress to wear for her big day.

There have been many stories of bridesmaids gone rogue.

Remember when a bridesmaid shared a picture of the bride’s dress to Facebook before the big day, and when one bride’s bridesmaid tried to hijack the photographer – during the wedding – for an impromptu engagement shoot.

But, what if your bridesmaid refuses to accept your dress code?

A bride-to-be has taken to Facebook to express her anger after asking her sister to wear a navy blue dress with flowers on her wedding day.

The bride was shocked when her sister chose a see-through black lace dress instead.

In the Facebook post, the disappointed bride wrote: ‘My wedding is in eight days and I told my little sister in January to get a navy dress with flowers on it.

‘She told me today she hasn’t ordered a dress yet but she liked this.’

She continued: ‘I said that’s not appropriate for my wedding especially as a bridesmaid so if this is your hint you don’t want to be a bridesmaid just say it.

‘So she has stepped out of being my bridesmaid and I think she still thinks she gets to do all the bridesmaid fun with me and bachelorette fun … sorry nope!’

The evening dress is being sold on Fashion Nova website and costs £54 pounds.

The gown features a sheer mesh floral design with a see-through bodysuit and padded bra.

Facebook users are not impressed by the choice of outfit with many claiming it is unsuitable for a wedding and more suited to a festival.

One user wrote: ‘It’s a wedding, not Coachella.’

Another said: ‘If you showed up to my wedding in negligee, you’d be asked to go back to your home and get a good night’s sleep.’

Another added: ‘Anyone that would wear this dress to a wedding is just trying to show up the bride and be trashy. But if the bride is down then get trashy and have fun.’

Others thought it looked more like lingerie and ‘belongs in a bedroom’, rather than at such a special event.
