Hay fever sufferers praise Vaseline for being a 'lifesaving' remedy

It’s that time of year again. The pollen count is rising, bringing a whole host of unpleasant hay fever symptoms with it.

If you’re one of the 13 million hay fever sufferers in the UK, you’ll be very familiar with the struggle to find a way to relieve the pollen allergy.

There are so many products on the market, and you’ve probably tried all of them by now. You can walk into any pharmacy and see tablets, nasal sprays, eye drops, and other things that claim to provide relief.

But hay fever sufferers have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on a new solution. Users are praising Vaseline for helping to ease symptoms, by acting as a barrier to trap pollen. You might even have this popular item in your cupboards somewhere.

Vaseline is both cheap and easy to find, so if it does work, we’ll be stocking up on lots of it to get us through the high pollen count. There’s nothing fun about constantly sneezing, getting itchy eyes and being congested.

If you try the product and it doesn't work for you, why not try these natural hey fever remedies?

As we’ve been experiencing a heatwave so far this summer, experts warn that the pollen count is only going to get worse. The Met Office has even advised asthma sufferers to be prepared, as the pollen could cause breathing difficulties and asthma attacks.
