Kate Wright has revealed that her New Year resolution is to be happier in her own skin as she struggles with anxiety and self-love.

Kate Wright has an active social media presence and loves to share an insight into her glamorous life with fiancé Rio Ferdinand and his three children with her followers.

Last year the couple’s relationship went from strength to strength and Rio finally took the plunge to ask Kate to be his wife, much to the delight of fans and Rio's children.

Kate opened up about the challenge of being a step-mum and revealed that her own ‘upsetting’ experience with stepparents had a big influence on how she behaves with Rio’s children.

Overall Kate’s social media posts are happy and cheery and certainly showcase the highlights from her life. From family holidays, fitness achievements and fun times with friends, it’s a struggle to spot any faces without a smile.

And while this is a lovely thing for Kate to share and her followers to see, in 2019 she wants to address the imbalance in her feed in an effort to find more self-acceptance.

Writing an emotional post on Instagram Kate explained: ‘2019 goals 🙌🏼

'One of my New Years resolutions is to accept myself, something I struggle with.

'Anyone that knows me well knows I suffer with bad anxiety & really struggle to love myself. Most days are a battle with what’s going on in my head. I’ve sort of kept this off social media as I’ve been to scared to share it, and the less I shared the more distant Instagram is from my daily life ... that’s going to change this year.’

Kate explained that her followers can expect to still see the fun times but they should also be prepared for the less glamorous times where she isn’t feeling 100 per cent.

She added: ‘This year I will not let society’s views on who I should be and what I should look like effect me. I have been so busy making sure everyone else if ok that I have forgot about looking after myself properly.... This year I am working on me; mind, body, soul❤️ #selflove’.

The post has proved popular so far and in an hour it has already amassed over 20,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

One person who could relate to Kate reassuringly wrote: ‘There is not a single woman that can not relate to this... us ladies are always “doing” as that is just in our DNA, we are selfless creatures and subsequently we don’t take care of ourselves as much as we should. It’s frightening how much this affects our over all health wellbeing (talking from experience recently). Xx’.

Another praised her for raising awareness and being honest. They wrote: ‘Love it! Great to see people in the spotlight starting to show their real selves as that’s the best role models for us all! 🙌 Well done @xkatiewright 😍 It’s not easy when there’s so much public expectations of you! 💕’.
