Katie Piper recovering well after undergoing facial surgery in Pakistan hospital

Katie Piper has revealed that she is recovering well after undergoing an operation.

The charity campaigner took to Instagram to reveal that she had flown out to Pakistan to undergo a procedure by her longtime surgeon Dr Mohammad Ali Jawad.

Speaking to her 855,000 followers via an Instagram story, the mum-of-two, who recently divided fans over her controversial views on baby food, explained why she had been AWOL from social media for a few days.

‘Hi guys, I am currently in hospital in Pakistan in Mr Jawad’s clinic, hence why I’ve been a bit quiet on the story, but I’m recovering now.

‘I just wanted to say thanks for all your messages that you’ve sent me about Famous and Fighting Crime.’

‘Obviously I haven’t really been on here much and it’s just great to hear your feedback and sorry I can’t reply to everyone individually but it’s really good seeing all of your feedback.’

She later shared a photo on her Instagram story of her up and out of bed, writing: ‘First day in my clothes! Gotta keep this stockings on!’

In the background fans can slightly glimpse the grinning face of Katie’s husband of three years Richard Sutton, who has been at her bedside while she’s been recovering from her facial surgery.

A spokesperson for Katie also announced the news, telling the MailOnline: ‘Katie has travelled to Pakistan to have an operation by her long-standing surgeon who is now based there.

‘Katie is currently recovering in hospital and Richie her husband is by her side.

‘She sends her love and thanks to everyone who has sent well wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.’

Dr Jawad has been working with Katie ever since she was attacked with sulphuric acid back in 2008. At the time of the attack, he was responsible for the TV presenter’s facial reconstruction surgery.

We hope that Katie is recovering well and send her all of our best wishes!
