Woman who lost 22st has 7lbs of excess skin removed and shares incredible pictures

Lexi, from Indiana, lost an incredible 22st since January 2016 but this left her with 7lbs of excess skin, which needed to be surgically removed.

If you’ve been trying to lose weight for some time and you’ve finally motivated yourself to have a lifestyle change, it’s a pretty amazing feeling when you start seeing some results.

But when you’ve managed the dramatic weight loss in a short period of time, people often forget about the potential of having lots of excess skin left behind. Lexi, who tracked her incredible weight loss under the Instagram handle @fatgirlfedup, was faced with that exact reality.

After losing  312lbs in weight in two years, the equivalent of more than 90 bags of sugar, Lexi was left with 7lbs of excess skin on her stomach, thighs and bum.

This is my Halloween costume. I have loose skin over my entire body and it hurts. I have been in pain for months but nobody knows the reality of the pain loose skin can cause but the vanity of plastic surgery. My legs are heavy and my neck is tired from carrying this around. This is my morning reality. This is my reality after living my whole life obese. I did this to myself. I was my problem and I'm now my solution. I refuse to keep doing any more damage to my body. I refuse to hide. This is my next chapter and eventually I will have surgery to help my legs too. Please start now and reverse the damage to your body. It's time you love your body back. 4 DAYS. #weightloss #looseskin #legs #fattofit #obesetobeast #beastmode #obesetobeast #fitfam #fit #fedupfam #fatgirlfedupsdietbet #dietbet #excessskin #plussize #selflove #effyourbeautystandards #plasticsurgery #drjosephmichaels #legs #muscles #weightlossjourney #fit #gym #workout #exercise #extremeweightloss #transformation

She explained: ‘As hard as it is for me to post photos of myself like this on the internet knowing how many are watching, I know that it will be gone in just a few days and I don’t want to hide the reality of massive weight loss. I never want to not be real with you guys. I’m here to be real, not to be perfect.

‘Danny [her husband] told me to post this because he knows how much it will help someone. The reality is girls wear bikini thongs in public and nobody bats an eye and we all have skin. I HAVE LOOSE SKIN ALL OVER MY BODY. I was almost 485lbs and it’s just something that reminds me of who I once was. This is my reality.’

Incisions, bruising & swell hell! We are one week post op since my surgery with @drjosephmichaels. This was one of the scariest things not to mention decisions I have ever made in my life. I had to put myself in the position to decide to go forward with surgery and even though I was terrified and I almost talked myself out of it a thousand times – there is no doubt in my mind that this surgery has already changed my life in so many ways that I cant even imagine yet. We can only go up from here! ——————————————————————————– Whos ready to hustle for the holidays!? NEXT DIETBET STARTS 11/19!! She described the surgery as ‘one of the scariest things’ she’s ever done but also as one of the best decisions she has ever made.

#throwbackthursday to the girl who spent many years trying to lose weight. To the girl who feared any small chest pain was a heart attack. To the girl who snored so loud she feared she may die in her sleep and not live to see 30. To the girl who took the before photo telling herself she'd want it but never show anyone, especially not almost a million people on social media. To the girl who failed so many times, but never gave up. Throwback to that girl because the war she fought carved these beautiful battle wounds and who I am today. Just a reminder that we can only fail if we give up and to use those "failures" as a stepping stone. I am proof that if we keep getting up everytime we fall eventually we can stand up stronger.
